There are three types of Ausbildung.

Dual vocational training (Duale Ausbildung) : 

Dual vocational training combines practical training in a company with theoretical education at a vocational school. Trainees usually spend one or two days per week at vocational school and the remaining days working in a company.

Dual studies combine university education with practical company training. Students receive both academic and professional qualifications.

There is generally no legal minimum educational requirement for dual vocational training. The training company decides which educational qualifications are required.

  • Dual vocational training requires Secondary school certificate or equivalent is usually accepted. ( Matric )

  • Dual studies require university entrance qualifications.

There is no age limit for vocational training in Germany. But Under 30 have more chances for starting an Ausbildung.
